The new FIMI Service website is now online! And with a look that recalls the other websites of the Group and can therefore be quickly recognizable.
The most significant change is in its design: we wanted to keep the graphic essential and user-friendly.

Adda Fer is thrilled to share the acquisition of a new contract with PJSC Severstal, one of Russia's major metallurgical companies and a world leader.

The Russian company will be supplied with a brand-new line for the production of open steel profiles, more specifically for sheet piles and U-profiles.
The line, entirely designed by Adda Fer engineers, will also be equipped with a quick tooling-changeover system to boost and optimize the productivity and with an unloading and packing line for profile bundles.
The equipment of the new plant will be connected to the FIMI Slitting Line installed 10 years ago to reach a perfect flexibility in the planning and procurement of the spare parts in the future.

Another special feature of this line is the cutting of the sheet piles, which will be carried out by means of an anthropomorphic robot with plasma cutting mounted on a movable carriage, completely designed by FIMIGroup Automaton division. This will enable the line to achieve the high-performance standards required by the Customer.

The installation is scheduled for next year.

Last week, the orbital flying cut-off commissioned by the Indian customer Welspun has left for Genoa and will arrive in about a month by ship.
The departure of the exceptional truck from Viganò has aroused considerable interest in all our colleagues, given the considerable size of the crates.

The photos show the two crates shipped: the first, which contained the wagon with the rotating head, had dimensions of 650x355x395 cm and weighed 29 tons.
The second, with the base, was 1200x320x140 cm and weighed 16.3 tonnes.

The last few years have been crucial for the Company located in Viganò: years of changes, acquisitions, transformations and, above all, expansion.
This evolution has inspired the Group to face the market and the new challenges with a more defined image, made stronger by a restyling of the Brand and by new strategic communication tools to share the Company’s success story.

The starting point was the restyling of the Group’s pyramid of logos, which appeared fragmented and dispersive due to the many acquisitions: the coordination and updating reflect the history and the identity of each reality inside of FIMI, thus finding a new balance and a more contemporary look.

New payoffs have given greater strength to the Company’s missions, as well as to the entire corporate image and to the new company profile, consisting of a Group brochure and several product leaflets that illustrate the whole range of plants and machines in an intuitive and immediate way.

These features can be found also in the new website, www.fimimachinery.com, now online, which embraces all of FIMI’s divisions with a special focus on the user's browsing experience.

These are the very foundations on which FIMIGroup has decided to establish its new approach to communication, which will very soon find expression in the creation of new assets in the form of social networks, classic advertising and trade fairs.

The acquisition of Viganò International is aimed at the natural reintegration within FIMIGroup of a range of products that have their source file in the experiences gained inside our group.

A comeback that marks the end of a troubled saga lasting several decades. Nevertheless, this transition takes place according to FIMI's typical working philosophy, that is to offer its customers a trusted, stable, competent and innovative point of reference. 

FIMIGroup won a three-way auction after Viganò was put up for sale by Galbiati Group, which spun off the subsidiary from the group’s holding company.

This acquisition will have great benefits especially for all customers who had previously purchased more or less efficient equipment and who found themselves without any reliable partners after the company's closure.

With this deal, FIMIGroup does not expand its product portfolio; instead, it pursues an increasing customer loyalty through its Service, which thanks to the acquired skills can easily intervene also on Viganò brand lines.

A great achievement for the industrial center of Lecco: FIMIGroup strengthens its reach overseas, expanding into the USA thanks to its new partnership with Janus Automation, a leading Automation company in the metals industry the Americas.

The continuous progress of FIMIGroup had already taken the Company across the world: its first foreign branch was established in 2006 in China, followed by Germany and Switzerland, to reach important markets such as Germany, Northern Europe, Russia, the CIS countries and the USA. Its numerous partnerships and takeovershave made the Company what it is today: a unique leader in its industry, characterized by the completeness of its production and of its services, as well as unwavering quality.

Furthermore, FIMIGroup announces that, Covid permitting, it will take part in some already-planned industry fairswith its sales representatives, who will attend the Janus Automation booths, to cement the partnership and begin this new phase of growth. 

The AISTech will be the first exhibition. It will be held in Nashville between June 29 and July 1. Afterwards, FIMIGroup will appear at ALUMINIUM USA, which will be held in Louisville on 1 and 2 September.

Adda Fer is proud to announce a new contract signed with one of the most important American steel tube producer for the supply of two new Flying Cut-Offs for tubes. The supply includes a Single Blade SB4 able to cut tubes from 19 to 127 mm diameter for thicknesses from 1.1 to 7.1 mm and lengths up to 12.8 m, and a Double Blade DB10 able to cut square/rectangular tubes from 50.8 x 50.8 to 127 x 127 mm for thicknesses from 2.1 to 7.1 mm and lengths up to 18.3 m.

After the order of the first Double Blade Cut-Off in 2018, once again the Customer chooses Adda Fer’s Cut-Off Units, perfect example of the company’s deep knowledge of the technological cycle and of the needs of the Customers acquired in over twenty years of supply and installation of Electro-Welded Tube Mills worldwide.

The installation of the two units is scheduled between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021.

FIMI Automation, FIMIGroup’s division dedicated to the industrial automation since 1988, has launched its new website. After the first takeover of Trestelle Srl in January 2018, FIMIGroup reaches with LAEB the first target of its Automation division, which is the complete autonomy in the implementation of the industrial automation and of the service for the entire range of its products. 

Today, LAEB represents a technical excellence in our product sector in terms of both software and hardware. Its collaborations with SELEMA (acquired by the group last April) and its expertise in robotized islands – for clients such as BREMBO, convinced FIMIGroup to undertake this operation in a very short time; it only took 12 weeks to seal the deal.

From January 2020 then, LAEB has been incorporated in FIMI Automation to create a reality that with 35 specialized technicians will be able to design and produce advanced automation systems for ADDA FER’s new plants and machines, to respond timely and efficiently to the emergencies and to provide a service of implementation and update on the over 1.500 lines installed by FIMIGroup worldwide. 

Moreover, thanks to Mec Service – a 100% subsidiary of LAEB – there will be the opportunity to anticipate phase 2 of FIMI Automation: the robotics division, which, already seen as a goal in FIMIGroup’s industrial plan for the medium term, acquires with this takeover a strong impulse. 

It will take physiologically a few months to adjust the new structure and to allocate all the precious resources that will be transferred to the headquarters in Barzanò (formerly Samo) in order to have suitable spaces and logistics for this division with great ambitions.

An integrated organization combined with a technical background, which will allow FIMIGroup to guarantee to its customers a new offer: even more complete, more and more customizable, more technologically advanced and highly profitable. 

An offer that will make FIMIGroup maintain its status as leading company in the manufacture of plants for the processing of sheet plates earned in the field internationally over the years.

FIMIGroup begins the renewal of its machine tool fleet with a PAMA Speedram HP 1000. The installation of the new boring machine also aims to increase business efficiency through the use of interconnected technologies, improving and enhancing company’s productivity so as to become an active part of Industry 4.0.

A strongly desired investment, carried out right in this peculiar economic moment, which will allow FIMIGroup to start an integrated project thanks to the introduction of new figures inside the company dedicated to the development of Internet IoT tools and 4.0 technologies.

Adda Fer is pleased to announce the acquisition of a brand-new order in Poland, for the supply of an SB2 Flying cut-off.

This Machine can cut steel tubes from 38 up to 60,3 mm diameter with thicknesses from 1,5 up to 3,2 mm, and it will replace an existing shear.

The installation of the Cut-Off will be in Krakow by middle February 2019.

The growth of FIMIGroup continued with a new acquisition. In fact, the company based in Viganò (Lc) has won the tender for Selema, an Italian company founded in 1980, a leader in the design and construction of processing lines for strips of non-ferrous materials, particularly specialized in aluminum.

«This acquisition is also an important step for the growth strategy of our group – explains the CEO, Mr Antonio Pensotti -. We are proceeding along the path of the quality excellence in which have been placed also the previous acquisition of Sacma and the opening of the German subsidiary FIMI GmbH. Steps that are now giving the desired results ».

After a satisfactory 2017 regarding the Ebitda, but with a turnover still weighted by the recent lackluster past, 2018 is set to be the year of the relaunching, with a turnover growth that is in the order of 35% - 40% and with the concrete possibility of both reaching and exceeding the amount of 45 million euros.

«From a “wait-and-see” approach to the market – Mr Pensotti goes on – we moved more proactively towards our Customers, underlining our firm will to go on producing quality lines, regarding performance and technology, if not even increasing it, considering the automation projects we are working on.

The positive results we are encountering in 2018 confirm the good work done so far; it is true that our order portfolio is already projected to 2019; moreover, the positive market situation following the cut in investments imposed by the crisis in 2008, is helping companies to renew or increase their machines’ fleet».

A definitely positive contribution to the growth of the group has been also given by the opening of the German branch FIMI GmbH, located in Hagen and specializing above all in Service and lines’ maintenance.

«Since the announcement of its opening – adds Mr Pensotti – we have had an immediate response from the main steel producers in the German market. They knew FIMI brand very well, but they wanted a more direct presence on the territory. An interest that has already been translated into job opportunities that we think can only be the beginning of a growing trend».

Referring to the acquisition of Selema, this is an important step for FIMIGroup, also in view of a diversified increase in its range of products. The thicknesses processed by Selema lines are in the 10 µm – 4 mm range for the whole kind of processed alloys.

«This acquisition – explains the Group’s Technical Director, Ing. Giulio Magnani – allows us to increase our skills both in processing aluminum thin sheets and in all the complementary technologies also for which Selema was always at the top. The company has developed, patented, produced and put into operation lines with a very high technological content, a real technical source file of tension-levelling lines and the degreasing lines still unique in the world for their production range and performance. Despite this uniqueness, the great technical professionalism within FIMIGroup has the possibility to integrate this new know-how in a very short time and to offer it on the market even now».

Tube Dusseldorf 2014 has established the success of Adda Fer Meccanica that has been growing thanks to a vin-to-vin strategy implemented in the last decade that bases its foundations on quality, technological innovation and customer service. All of this has allowed the organisation to become the ideal and trustable partner for the design, manufacture and installation of complete tube-mills: from slitting lines, tube-mill to produce API tubes up to 16”, automatic-packing systems, hydro-test and end-facing.

It is now four editions that Adda Fer brings new innovative products showing to the tube industry its own technological development and competitive edges and in this year Adda Fer aimed to bring the attentions to the latest evolution of its Flying Cut Off that have 2 independent blades programmable for two different tube’s profiles for tubes up to 10”; Four Blade Orbital Flying Cut Off for API tubes up to 16” and 20mm of thickness; Full Automatic strip joint bench with 5° diagonal cut; Welding Head with 4 rolls for tubes ranging from 3” to 8” with quick change system and in addition Linear Cage Forming motorised; Quick Change solution from breal-down, fin-pass and calibration in order to reduce setting changes.

Adda Fer strongly believes that this great positive success trend showed in the last few years will follow as it has allowed the organisation to gain some very important projects at the world-wide scale, like: Russia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, United States of America and Mexico.

This year the event will be held from 7 to 11 April in Dusseldorf and Adda Fer exhibit 3 products of its range: 

- A flying cutoff double blade shear for tubes up to 273 mm. diameter; 

- A fully automated strip joint bench; 

- A welding head for tube lines up to 219.0 mm. diameter.

Last 27th and 28th of September Adda Fer Meccanica has had the pleasure to invite, at its headquarters in Mapello, some important delegations coming from different parts of the world, to give them the opportunity to take vision of the last lines and plants totally designed and manufactured by Adda Fer Meccanica itself.

Thanks to an imminent delivery for an important Russian Customer, Adda Fer Meccanica was able to present :

- Electro welded tube line A.P.I. TM10, for the production of pipes up to diameter 273 mm. and thickness 8.0 mm.

- Electro welded tube line A.P.I. TM14, for the production of pipes up to diameter 355.6 mm. and thickness 12.7 mm.

- Double blades flying cut off DB10, for the cut of pipes up to diameter 273 mm. and thickness 8.0 mm.

- Four blades orbital flying cut off FB16, for the cut of pipes up to diameter 426 mm. and thickness 20.0 mm.

Several important partners of Adda Fer Meccanica, involved in the supply of components for its machines, participated to the event.

The decision to organize the Open House directly in the company, also gave the opportunity to the participants to see the advanced equipment used by Adda Fer  for the design, construction and assembly of the various parts of its lines and plants.

These two days have been very positives for the visitors, who were able to better appreciate the business philosophy and the method of production of the company, and for the Adda Fer team, who was able to better understand directions and requests of some of the leading tube manufacturers, in this particular moment of the market.
